What it means

The consent language exists, but it leaves out the details carriers expect: brand name, what messages are for, frequency, that rates may apply, and how to opt out or get help.

How to fix it

  1. Name the brand in the consent text.
  2. State purpose and frequency (e.g. “appointment reminders, up to 4 msgs/month”).
  3. Include “Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”
  4. Link the privacy policy and terms next to the checkbox.

Compliant example

By checking this box you agree to receive appointment reminders from Example Detailing, up to 4 msgs/month. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Privacy: example.com/privacy
